A hike with Ollie(pic heavy!)

Well we sure had a great day yesterday! Found a new trail to explore, turns out with all the rain we've been getting the hike turned out to be GORGEOUS. I was expecting it to me brown ugly desert.

Ollie LOVED it and turned out to be a great little rock climber and patient too. We were climbing down this little embankment which had some really big slippery rocks, Ollie climbed down first and at first I was worried he'd try to keep going and make me fall(dogs have to be leashed here) but he just waited for me and didn't continue walking until I was all the way down.

I've never been here before and was pleasantly surprised, will definitely be returning! Here are a few of the pictures from our hike, hope you enjoy!

Nice!!! Ollie's looking handsome as ever! :) You won't lose sight of him with his new harness and lead, either! Can I bring Grim and come stay with you until winter is over here??

It looks like a beautiful area for hiking and a gorgeous day. Ollie is such a good man for not pulling you down the rocks (I could never say that about our lab )

I'll put in another plea to stay with you until winter is over. We're supposed to get a nasty storm

LOL yeah, the harness is his car seat belt thing and I need to clean his leather lead so was using his backup leash but yeah definitely can't miss him. :D He tried to take off after a bird at one point, if I hadn't of had a better grip the bright colors would have come in handy!

Nice Photos!. We hike there a lot, usually 10-12 miles on a Sunday morning. I love it there this time of year but avoid once the warm weather and snakes arrive.

Yeah this was the oak canyon/grasslands trail I picked it because it doesn't have so much steep up hills... I've got bad knees and those are rough for me. I can't believe I haven't been to mission trails before but it's an hour away for me, the OB class I'm taking now is only 10 minutes away from the park so thought we'd check it. Glad we did!

And I agree lol, I tend to stay clear of inland during the summer... Carlsbad is much cooler, well mostly. :)
