Default Breed Guess.

I adopted this awesome pup a few weeks ago. I'm curious what he has in him. He's somewhere between 5-8 months and weighs in around 45 lbs. What do you all think?

The OP's dog definitely is a terrier mix.

The second dog could be pit x gsd.

I see GSD, terrier, and something else in the first pup.

The second one could be GSD and anything.

You know, you really can't tell what a mix is from looks, especially not a puppy. I've seen dogs that look nothing at all like what their ancestors were! We fostered a dog that looked like a malinois pitbull mix and he was indeed half malinois but was also 1/4 Briard!! He looked nothing like a Briard. He only had a teeny bit of pit in him, but it came out in his face.

Border Terrier mixed GSD seems probable. Though, my doubts come from the size...Border Terriers are much much smaller.

I don't know. The first dog that popped into my head was Schnauzer mix. Something about the face.

I'm curious is the black hair on the face and body is wire-y.

His hair is wire-y but soft and thick (might just be the puppyness). His beard is the wildest part. At first I thought he had individual white and black strands making up the color of the beard. But each individual strand is actually striped multiple times! It's wild. Unique looking pup.

I agree! Very unique! The beard is what made me think of Schnauzer or maybe a long haired JTR (mix of some sort).
