Dispelling many notions with one picture.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing that :)

I will add this to my album of GSD w/ cat pictures. These are my goals.

The cat and the rat are awesome...the cat really leaves the rat alone? How did you achieve this?

Great picture

The cat was a stray, who showed up back in the spring, she came around with a neighborhood cat I feed. It only took me a couple of days to make her comfortable enough to come to me. She never left my porch or yard after that, even at night, so I eventually figured she had no owner and I decided she could just come in and stay. She has always been very nice with the little animals, even when the chinchillas escaped by accident when nobody was home, I found her just hanging out with them.
Now, I would not trust her alone with any of them, but she's a very good little girl. She comes into the 'rat room' with me whenever I go in there, and they run around avoiding her most of the time and she just wants to get into their oatmeal - yeah, she loves her some oats. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...92910079_n.jpg Jaeger the GSD has really high prey/chase drive, though, and it took a lot of work with him to see the cat as a friend and not a toy. |
I love a household where everyone can get along:) I love rats and when I had one for a pet, my cats were fine with that...but somehow they ended up in the iguana tank:confused: I came home to find 2 8 week old kittens hanging with the iguana.

Amazing!! :) |
Great photo!!!! I loved my rats, and I'd like to get some more in the future, so it's nice to see that GSDs with high prey drive can get along with them! :D

I'm given up on hoping that will happen at my house.
