Default Unique Bond...

I really think these two have a unique bond between them. Titan was born into our house. There were three dogs in the house at the time and we'd found his mom as a stray who was terrified on the side of the road when we pulled over with a flat tire. Titan thought early on that dogs were evil evil creatures (so he learned from his mom who to this day still hates the dogs). Well he was the first born in a litter of three. My husband claimed him as ours and named him Titan because he was actually the smallest. His sisters were biggest than him. He's no longer the smallest. Titan learned to tolerate Riley and Zena. Zena pretty well left him alone but they never remained close to each other if they could avoid it. Riley was our resident kitty chaser. He corrected easily enough and knew he wasn't supposed to do it but every now and then.... Anyway, I have two dog savvy kitties. Faith was raised by Zena so she's really more puppy cat than cat lol.

Titan has never had an issue with Shasta. No matter how many times she pounced at him trying to get him to play. I think Titan and Shasta have a pretty unique bond between them. Shasta is very gentle around him. She'll come up on the bed and lay as close to Titan as she can get. She's very careful to control her movements around him and will position herself so she's touching him without actually laying on him. If she does that with Faith, she usually just flops down on her haha. Titan was born in May 2004 and Shasta is a Cinco De Mayo pup who will be three this year.

Once my husband and I found a pet friendly apartment, Titan was about a year old and still in my inlaws house with his mom. His mom influenced his behavior alot but once we were able to have him in our apartment, Titan learned really quick the dogs didnt care about him and didn't actually want to hurt him. He learned that if he moves slowly instead of running and hissing, he was fine. Took about six months. Shasta is almost three and Faith just recently decided she'd mellowed out enough she didn't need to be smacked into place anymore. lol. Faith is 7lbs of brave bossy little kitty and Titan is about 12-13 pounds. He's just very laid back. It'll take some time but they may get there.

Reminds me of my cat Rico and every dog we have kept here. I often find him sleeping on top of one of the dog crates in the morning before I let the dogs out.
