Food question: This is my first large breed puppy. I am currently using Purina Pro Plan which my gf used with her dalmatian and I have seen a number people on here speak highly of. Others have recommended a food specifically for large breed puppies. Any thoughts?

I personally would use many foods before Purina products.
We advise our adopters to avoid corn, wheat, soy and by-products. There's better yet even less expensive foods out there. Try Kirkland/Diamond NATURALS (not plain diamond), Blue Buffalo, etc. |

Penny is adorable. We went with Blue Buffalo and have been happy with it. Congratulations and Merry Christmas!

i personally use FROMM large breed puppy food for my 10 month old. "large breed puppy" food helps with there over all growth so you have a less likely chance of future health problems. also INNOVA is a better dog food less grains that simple act as a filler for animals and provide no real nutrition, the first 5 ingredients are the most important and should be mainly meat, especially for a GSD Blue Buffalo is the best food you can buy at a "chain" store like say Petsmart/Petco but you can get even better food at small store that are not a "chain" like FROMM and even Orijen. Orijen is a TRUE grain free food.
