This week he'll be 13 weeks, and he's my first dog, so I'm sure I'll ask silly questions and make tons of mistakes, but hopefully I'll end up with a great dog and some funny stories in the meantime.

There is NO such thing as a silly question ... what I would recommend BEFORE you post your question is to do a search in the forums first ... between NEW POSTS and QUICK LINKS on the menu bar at the top ... There is a TON of information in here, and I do mean a TON ... so grab a coffee, give your pup a bone to chew on and start reading LOL
We've all made mistakes with our first dogs (and second and third, and fourth) ... WHY? Every dog is different. What worked perfectly with one dog, might only work 50% with the next dog.
You'll get so much information on here, that it will be up to you to decide which method works! Make sure you pick a method that you are comfortable with, and stick with it. The more you flip flop, the more confused you're going to make your dog!!!! That's the BIGGEST mistake people make in training ... too many methods being thrown at the puppy at the same time.
You have a beautiful puppy, a wealth of experience at your fingertips ... enjoy the puppy moments ... they'll be gone in a flash!
