I like fake. The real ones are so prickly and they stab me through my clothes.

We do fake trees 30+ and we start putting them up mid-November, except for this year. Our best friend Sol passed away in Feb and he adored Christmas, loved the trees so much he would go into depression when they came down. I am still so sadden by him gone we have put up only 4 trees this year. We want the new pups and Murphy to still have a Christmas but I could skip it in all honesty.

Last year –

The forest was his favorite, we have larger trees throughout the house, but this was “his” spot.

I like fake. Less to worry about when taking the tree down!
Sol's, that's a cool idea! I'm so sorry about the loss of your dog, though

I love "mini" trees, ours is 4' and we can hang tiny things on it.
So far we just have mainly lights, but it looks pretty!

Only real in my family, fake trees are for old people, lol (that's what we thought growing up). I have no place to store a fake tree and don't have the patience to take them apart. The real tree is in and up in about 30 seconds. I've never had any added mess but I vacuum every other day anyway. It smells so nice! Got my Frasier Fur on Sunday, haven't decorated it yet because it's still settling. I love leaving the house and coming back, it smells so good!

Always have a fresh cut...support the locals! We don't put it up til the week before Christmas and I generally take it down on New Years day. I'll spend a bit more to get a soft needle pine and we cut it down. I hate seeing the painted trees. Unhealthy!

Sol's Amigo...I love your forest too. My sympathy to you in the loss of your boy

I love real ones. We don't put up a Christmas tree in our house because I get really tired of Christmas decorations and it just seems like a waste of my time lol. But I love going to my parent's house and seeing their tree which is always a real one.

Real...We've had both. Putting the fake one together was more hassle than vacuuming up a few needles. Plus, what happens to the fake one when we no longer need it?? Ten thousand years from now, it will be in a landfill. At least with a real one, we can mulch it back into the soil.

My parents have finally gotten too old for a real tree. I know it breaks their hearts, but it is what it is. Someday we will too. I've save enough room in the landfill for my fake tree when that time comes. ;P
