Today we celebrate our anniversary. The anniversary of Gunner coming home. I picked him up on November 8, 2008.
I can't imagine my life without him. He has brought so much joy to our lives. He is our baby, our buddy, our protector and our life.
The day I picked him up still is in the forefront of my mind. It was a cool rainy November day. The breeder was at a show in Texas but I really wanted to get him on that Saturday so her mother (who was staying with the dogs) got him all bathed for me and off I went to get him.
He only cried for about 30 seconds after I put him in his crate in the car.
He quieted down for the remainder of the ride.
It was down pouring on the way home and our 45 minute ride took us a bit longer.
But as we pulled into the driveway, the sun was coming out.
We ended up taking him out the yard for some exercise and he had a ball.
I love this boy with all my heart and am SO happy I picked "red boy". He is MY dog, as my husband will tell you. He is with me all day long and I have days where I'm hurting from my Fibromyalgia or my back problems and he will be there to cheer me up. He knows me so well and never fails to make me feel better.
Oh geez, sorry for rambling but I just can't begin to tell you what this dog has meant to me.
So Happy Anniversary to my Gunner.
The day I met him for the first time at the breeders home. I knew he was meant for me the minute I picked him up and he nuzzled my ear. It was love at first site.
