Default Pics of Storm Damage

Didn't get pics around town yet, to busy cleaning up, but wanted to post pics of my 'shed' that got smooshed I admit it, I cried like a baby((

Anyhow, here they are\

this was 4 pm monday storm was just getting under way, we lost power the same time the first tree hit the shed..You can see where it split off the trunk behindthe shed

Hole in the roof from the first limb, really no big deal at that moment

Right after the above shot, I was up on mydeck and the second one hit

Thats when my husband went out and rescued the chicks, good thing I have double side doors or we wouldn't have been able to get in, (the chicks are on the left side of the shed)

Tues am

cutting back limbs

hauled the tree off the shed with my blazer, which took down the front wall

the only part standing is the 5 x 12 chicken section,

cleaning up

we took the right hand wall, dismantled it, and slapped it up against the chicken section, it's temporary, since we have no idea if the part left standing is 'stable'..

and the chickies vacationing in my dining room for 3 days,,they were happy, the dogs and cats didn't bother them, but they are now back outside)

debbie, this was my 4000 dollar shed, and then all the renovations we did just for the chickens, must have cost me around another 1000( Atleast their 'run" was in perfect shape..not sure what we are going to do yet,,another shed? rebuild ourselves on the foundation/floor which is still in good shape or what..

You two do nice clean up work. Seriously, that would have taken us WEEKS to accomplish. I'm sure you didn't imagine you'd be using your dining room as a coop, but thankfully none of your chicks were injured or killed.

Did you build the barn structure yourselves originally? It must have been pretty well built to have NOT completely collapsed when the tree first fell on it. I'm sure you were heartsick when you saw it. Is that the only damage or do you face more?

That really sucks. So glad you weren't still in there when the second tree fell. You did a great job of "rebuilding".

You had your work cut out for you! Glad the chicks survived and you are back on the grid. I heard there is another storm brewing....I can't believe how nasty Mother Nature's been.
