Default February 2012 Trailride on the Empire Ranch

Here are some piccies. We went for a ride south of Tucson on the Empire Ranch. Beautiful area. Lots of history there.

Here is a website if you are interested in reading a little bit about the area.

History

Unfortunately, since its primarily grasslands there...fires are a problem. This is one of the areas that was burned last year.

Times can be tough on the Empire.

Doc looking both ways before she crosses the wash.

Looking back to where the truck and trailer were.

Doc and I.

BF and Cody.

We were looking for a gate...and BF spots it.

One of the old windmills on the ranch.

Headed back to the trailer....I think.

The only piccie of BF and I together.

Almost back...

Back to the burned out area...but we decided to walk over all the downed trees/logs.

And since this is a GSD forum...here are a couple photos of Uschi too.

I left all of Uschi's toys at BF's by accident so I had to get out the new ones she got for X-mas.

Right before she attacked that poor squeaker toy!

And right after I told her to be nice to her toy...looking all innocent..HHHmmmmffffff!

Snow Canyon is our favorite place to ride so far =3 We want to do some down near the Grand Canyon soon, before it gets to hot. I love Utah so much ^-^

Oh wow, I am so envious. I can imagine the squeaking of the saddle, the smell of the horses and the sway of the gait on that ride. Memories are good if you can't be there, and that's as close as I can get. Thanks for sharing and giving me that good memory from the past..

I just made plans to ride the Anza-Borrego State Park Trail in April, it's just outside San Diego and is supposed to be incredible with the blooming wild flowers, there's supposed to be big horn sheep as well, the park looks incredible, a group of us Walking Horse riders are getting our horses in shape for the terrain, I'm super excited , people say its a bucket list ride, I have to break the news to my mare Lacey tonight.
