Default Saphira goes hiking! *pic heavy, but they're pretty cute*

Its so funny, all day all I could think of is that Maggie Rose Lee will be proud of us out hiking!

Ok so in the quest to achieve a happy, tired puppy, my friend and I have taken up hiking with the dogs...last week we started out with a small state park that is filled with orange orchards. She was so excited to be out with her buddy that she exhausted herself.

Today, we headed up to Idyllwild, this little mountain town that is super dog friendly and has lots of trails. ( Oh yeah, she is wearing a prong for the first time ever since I was unsure of her reaction to wildlife...I do realize its too big, it was used in a pinch (ha ha) today just to ensure she would not chase wildlife...she actually just transitioned to a martingale but I was afraid it would not be enough...she will be getting her own properly fitted prong in a few weeks when she's a bit older.)
The gang starting out...(minus me, the cell phone photographer!)

View from the back of the pack

Saphira resting (she is so dramatic, we are like maybe a mile in to the hike)

Best picture of the day, just wish I was skilled enough to photoshop out the leash and collar! If any of you photoshop junkies out there want to try, I'd be eternally grateful!
Saphira the mountain dog!

Saphira at the end taking another water break with her kidlet. Seriously this is her kid...this dog loves me like crazy but has this weird obsession with keeping my daughter in sight and preferably within about 5 ft of her. She goes nutty when the kid gets too far away from her.

After the hike, we went to a restraunt that welcomes dogs on the patio (actually almost all of them welcome dogs, this town is so neat) First time Saphira has dined in public, she was uber well behaved but mostly because she was so exhausted she just slept.
Here she is crashed out next to me.

Then the dogs were very well behaved as we strolled around the town, buying beef jerky, going in this cool little dog boutique (of course Saphira got a toy out of it and a bully stick for the ride home). Some shops we waited outside of and took advantage of all the free socialization opportunities.
Saphira and Doug hanging out waiting for my friend to finish shopping.

Best friends forevah!

Now here's just a few randoms from the last week. Saphira is about 17 weeks old in most of these.

Ready for her Havasu trip...real question is, Is Havasu ready for her? She'll be riding on the sea doo with me...should be exciting.

Saphira hanging out with some new toys...none of my past dogs like rubber toys, they always preferred stuffies, but Saphira seems to love these rubber ones.

Saphira with her kid again.

Saphira with her buddy Doug, a 3yr old golden who's currently sporting a summer swimming clip!

That's all for now!

Saphira is a beautiful little girl, looks like she is really getting to enjoy the outdoors and socialization. Enjoyed the pics, thanks for sharing.

King&Skylar, that was very nice of you to photoshop that pic for her.
