Looks like a GSD to me. She could be called a black and tan. If she didn't have the tan on the chest and under her face, but only her paws it would be bi-color, or also black and tan. It's pretty safe to say she will always be this color, or very close. I also am sorry your camera sucks. : )

back and tan saddle back markings.

My guess is yes, she is purebred, but no way of knowing for sure without sire and dam info.

She is a pretty girl, and it will be interesting to see her grow up.

she will always be black and tan, but she is going to lighten up a lot. She is young and she will probably have a lot less black when she reaches adult, and then even less when she is three or four years.

They change a lot.

Arwen at just under six weeks:

At about 3-4 months:

At six months about:

At 18 months:

At two years:

At four years:

Yeah, I suppose you are right as that is such a young dog. I know the black/red or tan showline puppies are mostly black when they are born. I have had dogs that looked similar to the OP's and they turned out to be very close the when they were pups.

Thanks, I don't know. I wonder why Lippazanner horses are born dark brown and do not turn white for a couple of years.

I was very disappointed with my first German Shepherd Dog. He was everything I did not want. Large, bi-colored, soft ears, aggressive, high energy, high drive, and not good with kids.

I read in a book that if you wanted one with a saddle, make sure there is brown on the face and above the eyes. That is what I did with Arwen, and she turned out to lighten considerably.

The bi colored and agressive part made me lol! what are the chances of my dog turning out saddle back? or maybe the same pattern but a different color?

She is such a cutie, just sit back and enjoy the ride. Take lots of pictures along the journey.
