Default Would you label him sable?

I am a bit of a paranoid mom.
I have been on what color to put Dakota if he ever got loose and I had to file a lost report at the local shelter.
Now I highly doubt he will get out; he is crated inside the house when gone, and not let outside unattended.

So my question is, would you call his color sable? Or black and cream? If the shelter I volunteer at got him they would probably mark him as black and tan.

I'd call him a black & cream or black & tan. Definately not a sable.

I think you'd want to describe him as accurately as possible so I'd say black and cream. (or tan, it's hard to tell in the picture)

Black and tan/cream no doubt about it. Definitely not a sable. The average person probably doesn't even know what a "sable" dog is anyway.
