Default Pictures of gardens please

Can anyone who has designed their garden to be easy to clean up after their dogs please post some pictures so i can get some ideas? I have a really horrible muddy patch of grass that i want to get rid of asap but we dont have lots of money to do it so i need some ideas and id love to see some of your gardens. We were thinking of wood chips but not sure, would love to have it either patio or some nice stones but i think it would cost more. Thanks in advance.

This thread is right on time! We've been talking about doing some "landscaping" in the area of our yard that we have fenced off just for the dogs. I want to put in some sort of raised bed with a couple of trees and maybe some hardy shrubs. I also want to do something more with pavers for the higher traffic areas. I've tried googling "backyards for dogs" "landscaping for dogs" etc and the results are rather limited.

Just sharing................ Dogs can not get near any of it though unless I allow. E-fence keeps them out. They have 2 acres they can run/play on, they don't need my flowerbeds.

Best of luck to ya............ use your mind, be creative, & have fun !

That's gorgeous, Luvourgsds!

Max would definitely love the water feature, but I'm thinking more along the lines of low maintenance and sturdy.

Ya!

My solution was to set my fence back 15 feet from the curb. Resolves the issue of my dogs fence running because they have to run around the back of the house to get to the other side. So I get my show lawn and garden out front.

In the back, I have narrow raised beds along the fence - they're only 2 feet wide. Between the rocks bringing them up about a foot, the 18" hoop fence and me yelling GET OUT OF THERE NOW, the dogs get the point that is not their space. Pokey evergreens help too.

My big garden directly behind my kitchen, I did a tunnel with wire fence. The dogs can run along the fence behind the garden so they don't run through the garden (it's got a hoop fence too). They really like the tunnel, it stays cool in the summer.

I have duct tape and I am not afraid to use it.

Thanks ! You think more like my hubby.... LOL It's me always tending to the garden, but that's my escape. I love it & enjoy it. People stop from time to time & ask about the pond since it's in the front of the house (bigger one) & I always tell them, IF you don't not enjoy tending to your landscape, DO NOT put in a pond................ high maintenance ! I truly love it & enjoy the wildlife (frogs & turtles) it attracks.................

LOL Thanks ! Well..................... the family owned garden center right over the hill from us has only been trying to get me to work for them for 2 yrs. now.......... LOL

I just have an eye for things & what looks good, IMO of course. I haven't taken any classes & unsure about ALL the plant names, etc ! Trial & error is how I learned. I just enjoy doing it & has been my passion. I'm one that thinks landscape makes a house be a house.
