I didn't recognize your name at first!
She is darling!! With all the wonderful pics of Jake you've taken and shared I cannot wait to see her as she grows.

Michelle, Keefer didn't know what to do with Halo at first either, but it didn't take that long - by the second or third week he was deciding that she was okay. He would try to play with her like she was a full grown adult dog (he's 80 pounds she was 14 pounds when we got her - yikes!), which we immediately put a stop to. And then he seemed to think that if he couldn't play with her, what good was she? She'd try and play with him, and I'd try to get them to tug a toy together like he and Dena used to do, but as soon as she touched the toy he dropped it like it was radioactive and looked disgusted.
He was so despondent after Dena died. We thought maybe we should get another puppy sooner rather than later because he was used to having a doggy companion around. I wasn't sure WE were ready yet, but it seemed like he'd be happier, so we were a little surprised when he didn't seem all that interested in her. I think by then he was starting to get used to being an only dog, and she was just so little. But she adored him and was not to be deterred, so he did come around. Fortunately she was a spunky little thing so she was not at all intimidated by him even though he was so much bigger.

Jake actually tried to have a play with her today, he was full of GSD noises
She wasn;t intimidated at all like you said about Halo. She chases him around and pesters him all the time to play. He eventually gave in today as his grumbling wasnt getting him anywhere When he had enough of her he ran back into his crate and i shut the door so she couldnt follow him in and he had a little snooze and some peace and quiet.I hope he is now starting to see she is a fun little thing to have around It'll only be a week she is here next Sunday so i know it's still early days yet.

Keefer STILL retreats to his crate when he doesn't feel like dealing with Halo's shenanigans!

When I brought Benji home Meega didn't know what to do either. Plus she had always been an only dog except for when we watched my parents' dogs. She quickly learned that he was someone she could play with, but like Keefer would play too rough. He has never been scared and they have a great time. Benji is now 15wks and over 30lbs so half of Meega's weight so they have a blast.
