We'll just have to post lots of pictures of our "Pikes". How did you come up with his name, BTW? Everyone looked at us like we were crazy at first, and then it totally grew on them. We named him after Pike's Peak, the mountain, my husband's favorite place he had ever lived (the litternames had to start with "P"). It also made for a really cute blog name - pikespeek

Now I can't imagine him named anything else!

Actually it was the name given to him by his breeder. My wife and I liked it but the kids wanted to pick another name. As you said, the name grows on you and the more family we mentioned it to, the more it stuck. The breeder said she named him after a famous GSD, I will try to find out more info and pass it along.
