Ouch! Glad both you and the dog are ok! I've seen some nasty falls at training... especially with the K9s. They come in like a ton of bricks! From what I've noticed.... experienced or not... it happens!!

I did decoying once for a few dogs so I could feel what it was like and understand what's going on on the other side..... not for me! lol. First shepherd was easy... hit a bit hard, but didn't shake, he was a dead weight.... second was a pup, so it was a hit and release... third was a very experienced personal protection Mali (that was supposed to go to the police) and I will tell you... the bite took my breath a little, but the shaking from that huge dog shaped muscle nearly threw me down!!!! I had bruises going all the way up my arm and shoulder. After that... I happily let our decoy take the sleeve, and went back to the other end!

Yes, I'm training in a different sport and the decoy work is different than schH. So the decoy I'm training under told me to force the dog to go to a side instead of allow the dog to choose (hand or elbow). All the dogs in this club will center punch the decoy. Well as I was running at the dog and it was running at me, I started to break to my left (so I would spin left) and the dog turned and started at my right. If I continued doing what I had started I would have jammed the dog for sure. So I straightened up and jumped up and back as fast as I could. The dog center punched and knocked me back hard. I got to catch the rest of the long bites that day haha.
