SDA...What if you are a Canadian? ;)

Just curious more than anything but a couple of questions:

Are there any clubs that host SDA events in the western region of the US?
Are Canadians allowed to enter these events or no?

Looks like so much fun - sure would love to see something like this start up here in Canada!

Truehaus Kennel has a SDA club in California....Though there are no Canadian clubs I am sure getting a club started in Canada wouldn't be a problem if you have the people and the commitment.

Thanks so much for the response Cliff - I noticed the club in CA this morning when surfing through some of the clubs listed on the SDA site. It WOULD be neat to get a club going for this indeeed!

Does anyone know if you can participate in any of the events in the US if you are a Canadian whose dog is Canadian Kennel Club registered or is this not a possiblity?

Not too sure about SDA, but Stark is dual registered with both AKC and CKC and we can participate in trials in the states - not sure about SDA though?

I'm curious as well... Nicole, you need to move to Ontario so we can start a club!

SDA doesn't require dogs to be purebred or registered or anything else. The dog just needs to be registered with SDA's database and the handler a member of SDA, and then you can trial. So being in Canada with CKC registration wouldn't be a problem at all.
