Okay, I'm really upset and don't know what to do. I mailed an entry to Onofrio for an obedience trial this Saturday and never received a confirmation. It should have been here by now. Onofrio refuses to tell me if Rio is entered. Apparently, there's some small box on their entry form for you to make up an exhibitor code and if you don't, then they will not give you any info about your own dog if you ask. Filling out this exhibitor code box is not required to enter either. This exhibitor code stuff is buried on their website. I must enter two AKC trials a month year-round and I've never heard of such a thing and I've never had a trial secretary refuse to tell me if I'm entered.
Here's my email and their response: <span style="color: #3333FF">Hello, I mailed an entry for obedience at the Waukesha Kennel Club show this Saturday and have not received confirmation or any correspondence. I do not have an exhibitor code and was not aware that one was required to confirm my entry. I hope that you can tell me if I'm in the show, because I really need to know. I do not want to drive 120 miles if I am not entered. My info is as follows: etc.</span> <span style="color: #CC0000">I cannot tell you anything about the dog or its entries without an exhibitor code. The best thing I can say is to contact the bank, if your check has cleared then the entry was made. Thank you, Customer Service</span> I had written a reply to them but deleted it because I realized I am wasting my time. Even if I'm able to find out if my check is cashed, I don't know what the ring time is. And I was planning on taking Rio to a match tonight to prep but I will have to knock myself out to race there because I have Kayto's agility class overlapping it. If he's not entered it's not worth all the trouble. Actually the last time I entered this same show through them I had problems as well. They mixed up my dogs and had them entered on the wrong days. At that time they did give me info and said everything was straightened out, but it wasn't and I had a big problem when I got to the show. I want to cry.....

I think it's turning into one of 'those weeks' and it's only Tuesday. I took Flirt to conformation class last night and the person with the key to the building didn't show up. That was a waste of two hours. The match tonight is at the same club which is why I don't really feel like driving back there.
Heck, being in the ring isn't nearly as stressful as the rest of this stuff!

If I remember correctly, you can get ring times by checking either Onorfrio's website about show information or by checking directly with the club.
If it helps any, we did better when I had decided it was an excercise in futility & went ahead because I'd already spent the money. We did lots better. Something about me feeling there was nothing to loose I guess. (BTW Last one they had shut the building when I had driven 30 miles to check it out and set up the night before. I was unhappy but figured being unhappy was counter-productive & what the heck.) |

Thanks middle and xeph. I couldn't find it on Onofrio but the KC website had a link to the page on Onofrio. I'm going to try the bank tomorrow and will still go even if they don't have the check back, since it may be too soon.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised because it seems that whenever I enter Rio, whatever can go wrong DOES go wrong. We had a power outage for his last two rally trials. I believe I posted about the first one that lasted 30 hours and I went to the trial after having no water or electricity and smelling like a rose. Well, I didn't mention that the same thing happened before the next trial two weeks later. That outage was only 12 hours but it lasted all night and, again, no power or water the morning of the show. Maybe I should check the forecast for Friday night. I'm afraid to ask whether lightning can strike three times!

I decided not to take Rio to the match, I didn't know if I would make it in time, even with taking him along to agility. But the main reason was the cardinal rule of training - never train your dog if you're in a bad mood. So Kayto and I went to agility and had fun once we got there and I saw my friends. Then I came home, had a glass of wine and then Rio and I had a good training session.

Good for you!!!!
And middle is right of all the show superintendents I would rather deal with Onofrio. MB-F is a disaster and Rau just plain SUCKS!!!

My check was cashed. Now I hope they don't try to charge me admission when I get there.
I'm not familiar with MBF. Haven't had to go through Rau too much. Lately I've mostly had Roy Jones and haven't had any problems. They send confirmations out very early which is a plus.
