Tori is my Wacko pup that my brother gave me back and is now a bit fearful and really only good with me. Still, I want to continue to work with her but she has this minor problem: I sign her up for a class and she goes into heat. Twice now she has been through her cycle and started class and started spewing blood on the first day. Out to the car she goes and I bring in Heidi or Whitney so I do not lose the money, but it is getting old.
It was 24 days into her cycle when I started her in class and out spouts the blood. It is a full heat too -- seven days later she is flagging for my boys. So I will miss this week's class and next week's, and take her to the show with only one or two class sessions before hand. Has anyone ever had stress cause their bitch to cycle funny?

Great Show today. It poured buckets the entire time. We were outside. I felt sorry for the conformation people, but we were all in the same boat.
Tori only had two classes prior to this show, due to the heat cycle thing. And the first week, Wednesday night, she acted a bit scared of one of the dogs, and a bit weirded out by commands. It was frustrating. After a disasterous practice on Saturday, grooming on Sunday, this past Wedneday, Tori acted afraid of ALL the dogs and ALL the people. It was with much trepidation that I came to the show this morning. Tori passed her Rally Novice leg with a score of 90 and took second place. I think that mostly he got me for tight leads because she was really pulling and not healing well for the first half of the course. Maybe he was being nice because of the pouring down rain that was throwing a lot of dogs. She finally did get into her stride and we performed all the stations without any do-overs. I was not sure I qualified because you never know how badly you will be knocked down for the tight lead. In any case I am really happy with my girls today. Next week I am taking Rushie for an Obedience trial -- two legs. My big problem is off lead work which we have not done much of at all.

Congrats!
I'm working with my Katie in Rally Advanced (off leash) and I thought it would be no problem - until my last trial adventure (she left the ring). She does so well off-leash when we are at the training club, park, etc. But not at that trial. Maybe the next one...(if we can get MY nerves under control! LOL).
