Default UKC versus AKC Title question

If I show a dog in Novice A with UKC and we title can I still show in Novice A with AKC or will I be forced to go to "B"?

Any information would be appreciated!

You can show in Novice A in AKC until you get the title in AKC.

UKC recognizes AKC titles, so if you've already titled in AKC you have to show in B in UKC. But AKC doesn't recognize UKC titles so even after you get the title in UKC you can trial in A for the equivalent title in AKC.

Thanks!! Cool! So, I can compete for total dogs awards in UKC by showing in novice A obedience and it won't effect my AKC status?

Cut and paste straight from the AKC rulebook:
http://www.akc.org/pdfs/rulebooks/RO2999.pdf

Section 1. Novice A Class.
The Novice A class shall be for dogs that
have not won the CD title. A handler must own the dog entered or be a
member of the owner’s household or immediate family and may not
have previously handled any dog that has earned an AKC Novice, Open,

or Utility title.

Yep Chris is right! AKC can be snobby sometimes. I like UKC actually. Unfortunately I got my AKC CDX on Havoc before the UKC so have to show in B, but that is okay! I really need to finish the U-CDX, need one more leg. Need one more leg for the rally level 2 also.
