Default My OTCH in the making!! LOL

this video is kinda long, but if you can sit still long enough....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib2g6HM6cSA

It just shows all of the obedience exercises I have been working on with Shane, some more polished than others, because I like to break things down for him. Since he is still a puppy, I also havent worked much on distance and extended lengths for any kind of stays (sit, down, stand, the sit at the send out).

I enjoy working with this boy sooooo much! He is an enthusiastic learner and eager to please and most of all, he LOVES TO HAVE FUN!!!

Well, I watched about 30 seconds and just had to get up and work with Balto on his attention heeling. LOL! I'll have to remember to watch the rest later.

Thanks! I am very impressed with his training so far. I hope to maybe get a RN on him in the late winter, even though I'm not a big Rally person, I think it would be good ring experience for him before we ever enter for his CD. He needs lots of work around distractions still.

Rally can be a good step in getting ready for the other titles. It gets you that valuable experience.

Start teaching that dude go outs and the retrieves and signals, etc. He is a smartie!!

Great work Kelly and Shane!

You two are an awsome team.

It's too bad you are so far away, I would love to see the two boys together. Would be great distraction training.. hahahaha..

My instructor advises us to compete in Rally-O before getting a CD. It helps condition the dog to distractions, and it helps the handler too. I'm taking her advice.

I think the classes in Rally-O will be interesting. They really are mini obedience sessions.

One thing I worry about is if you plan on going on to regular obedience first, some handlers rely on the unlimited communication youre allowed to give your dog. When I did Rally with Sydney and got her RN, I only gave her one command as if I were in regular obedience.

Regular obedience is my main focus, I think im one of the few who actually PREFER regular obedience to Rally! LOL
