Default UKC Obedience trial

Well we decided to try UKC Obedience this weekend and it was a lot of fun.

Max earned his first 2 legs today and we're hoping for a title tomorrow.

Max did a great job winning a runoff for 1st place with a score of 193.5 and again with his second leg he had another runoff and won for 2nd place with a score of 190.5

We can't wait for tomorrow!!!!

I haven't done the U-UD but it looks like fun. Start training Utility too. I started training my rescue girl this summer and she does some aspect of all exercises novice through utility. It helps keep the dog from getting bored, I think. Utility stuff is fun for them.

I would love to see some U-UD dogs before I could decide. It sounds so different than AKC and don't want to screw Max up before I get my UD.

yeah, you can wait to teach the exercises that are odd if you want. I think the dogs can learn them all if they are smartie pants sorts. Your dog has great scores. Probably quite capable. Articles are easier, metal only. Consecutive recalls much like Open exercise. Gloves different but dogs can learn two glove exercises.

I can't wait to see some dogs before I try it. Max has no problems doing the articles being a SAR dog. He was doing the whole set of 12 with my scent only, no working my way up from the very start.

His biggest problem is "Oh I know this one, I know what comes next, I'll just save time and just do it before I'm told."

He has 1 leg toward his AKC UD and got a score of 196.5 and did a great job, then he got to smart for what comes next grrrrrr..
