Utility Articles!
I was in Home Depot last week and said, what the heck, I'll give it a try! Bought one small sheet of aluminum for the ends, and one hollow aluminum bar for the bits. Used long bolts with nuts and washers thru the hollow aluminum to each of the ends and sanded down the corners and any sharp areas. Cost me under $20 for all the materials. They aren't perfect but suit my needs for now, which is just training. Years from now when I'm ready to compete I will buy a set.Went to the craft store today to get stuff to make the leather ones, but they didnt have enough leather in stock, so I only had enough to make two articles.

Wow!!!! Those are nice! I'd like to get a set to start my Gordon on since she's doing well with the DB, but don't have the funds right now. I wonder if I can talk DH into making some?

the aluminum is VERY easy to work with, you can punch holes in it just using a screw driver, and just folding it over a few times and it will break on the line. I made small cuts with a hand held power saw I have, then could just bend it. Not as hard as I thought it was going to be!

WOW, make me a set please! I'm not to good with making things. If you'll make them, I'll buy them.

But I think they are suitable for training purposes. I still have to check back at the craft store and see when or if they will have more leather in stock so I can finish the leather set.
