Default Honor in RE Question

During the Honor Exercise, are we allowed to continue to talk/praise our dogs?

Also, if the dog shifts feet but doesn't break the stay by changing position, is that passing?

99% sure you can talk to your dog during the honor. I seem to recall my dog trainer talking about how she had to keep reminding her dog to remain in position while flies buzzed around her head.

I watched honor for a day when I was ring stewarding and, as long as the dog remained in the sit/down, they passed. I don't think shifting their weight affects it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought they can shift (ie, sphinx down to legs off to the side), but yeah they can't like sit up and then lie back down.

Jamie and Liesje are correct. I was also ring stewarding at a recent show and tasked with watchng the honor team. I went over it specifically with the judge since I have not been in the ring since the rule change.

Talking/praising is allowed.
