Once I finish Isa's RE title, I want to get her RAE. How does this work? When I go to my next show after she has her RE, I sign up in both RA and RE on the same day, then do I count that day as Leg1 of Leg10?

You need to qualify in both RA and RE (at the same show) ten times. I believe you can get your first leg the day you earn the RE (meaning if you were really sure your dog was going to pass that third leg in RE, you could enter both RE and RA and if you double Q'd you'd have your first RAE leg as well as your RE). It's something to do with a glitch in the AKC system that allows that for the RAE and the UDX. At least that's what people are saying on the training list I'm on - several have had gotten their first legs of those titles on the day they finished the previous title.
Are you training for CDX too? I love to see dogs get those advanced obedience titles! Melanie and the gang in Alaska

Yes, you sign up in Advanced B and Excellent B for the same day/show. If you Q in both at the same show, then you get 1 leg towards the RAE.

Yes I am also going for Isa's CDX title once I have the jumps... Keep forgeting to make them. She's know everything in the CDX except the jumps, haven't been able to train those yet.

Also, I was wondering, does each class have to be by a different judge each time? That would seem hard since a lot of the same judges are in RA and RE.

No, does not have to be different judges for each class on the same day.
ETA: Just checked in the regs and I don't even see a number for how many judges you have to receive Q scores under for the RAE. Does anyone know if there is one?

Wait, I'm totally confused.
So to get an RAE, you must have 10 qualifying scores, yes? Then what is RAE2? Is it just saying you got 20 qualifying scores and that you decided to just do the whole RAE again? ![]() So in order to get Isa's RAE, I need 10 qualifying scores? So say when I go to the albany show next month and I qualify in both RA and RE for both days, that counts as 2/10 for RAE, yes?

In Kayto's case, she got the 10 RAE legs (or double Q's if you want to call it that) and that was her RAE title. Then we did some Sibe specialties and a National for fun and she had 5 more RAE legs, so I decided to go ahead and finish her RAE2. (So, yeah, it was doing the RAE again) After the RAE you can keep going for RAE2, RAE3, RAE4, etc. The highest I've seen so far at a trial was someone finishing their RAE6.

I've never gotten into this whole "do the same classes over and over and over" thing - once I've shown my dogs can complete a level (RE or UD, for example) I've never been interested in doing the same thing ten times for the next titles (RAE and UDX). Of course, that could be in part because I always have numerous dogs and there's always something else to show in! *L* I don't think of an RAE title as any more advanced than an RE, though. All of rally is pretty straight-forward. Hope to see you post legs toward your CDX one of these days! Melanie and the gang in Alaska
