Long Beach, MS 4yr Old Black neutered male. Needs good home

I rescued Schindler when he was 2. He is now 4 and I have not been able to do nearly as much with him as I wanted. He is completely house trained, some light pulling while on a leash, he comes very well when called, when I am outside with him he does not need to be on a leash; he stays right with me. He is a good dog, he just needs someone who can spend more time on him, whether it be obedience training or walking. He is good with my 4 yr old step daughter. She used to make him very nervous but he has become comfortable with her. He is social when people come over to the house. He has never shown aggression towards other dogs or people. He doesnt jump up on people. I simply do not have the time he needs. I am expecting a baby and in my small home we do not have room as he is constantly under my feet. Please do not crucify me for trying to find a new home for him. If I cannot find him a good home we will keep him. There is no way I would take him to a shelter or give him to someone without knowing they would be good to him. I have more pictures of him on my page.

Kendra:

Do you think he wil get along with another male GSD?

I'm not trying to crucify you when I say I will never understand how anyone could let go of a living creature this beautiful. Its a huge loss to your family for sure. But if you're sure you are willing to give that up, you should post something on facebook as well to stimulate cross posting.

I think so. He has been around one other large male dog. When they would play Schindler does play a little rough but never tried to hurt the other dog or anything.

I agree. It hurts my heart to have to get rid of him. I honestly believe that he deserves better than what he has right now. Mostly I don't think I have the nerves or patience to deal with a high drive dog. I probably would not have taken him in had I done more research. Totally my fault and not any fault of his :(

In all actuality we will probably keep him. I know that he is happy in his home and he loves his Momma. Even though it would make my life easier, I just can't do that to him:( We have our ups and downs but he is a very good boy and I need to just try a little harder and have more patience.

I am really glad for you all. You can do it! You might want to look at something like nosework or Treiball - things that you could maybe do in your yard with him. I know people get really into the competitive side of everything, but sometimes you can just do little things that keep their minds moving and it helps a lot. Also don't know if funds are available (or a dog loving friend with more time) for a dog runner to get him out more. http://domorewithyourdog.com/pages/d...thyourdog.html has some trick ideas too.

I was just coming here to post this thread as a warning: http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...-rehoming.html so glad you won't need it.
