Military moving to VA
Is there anyone in Virginia Beach area that can take in my baby girl.. she is 13 months old CGC certified and completed basic obedience.. I love her to death and dont want her to be with just anybody. My sister was going to take care of her but she cant now. With my new job i will be out of town often and cant afford to kennel her for 7 to 8 months out of the year. I would rather she be at a loving home near by... I her vet history also... she is full of energy and loves other dogs, kids. I would love to see her in a home with another GSP if possible.

Hmmm, not trying to be rude but I just got out of the Army after 14 1/2 years. My husband is active duty also. We have taken our dogs every where and never gave them up for adoption. There is a reason why many rescues refuse to adopt dogs to military.
Try Dogs on Deployment. They are a non-profit that finds foster homes during deployments.

It's not the time to judge. If the owner is a single Soldier and the Soldier is gone for deployment and has no one to take care of the dog, what's the soldier going to do?
However, there might be a way to help you. Have you heard about the Guardian Angels for Soldiers Pet's Program? Contact them. Guardian Angels for Soldiers' Pet

That's why I put down Dogs on Deployment. This way military can still keep their dogs but have a foster during their deployments.
 And sorry, it just irks me. I know it isn't the time but I was a single Soldier once with a dog as well.

They have a Facebook page as well.
They do quite a bit of networking. It helps because Soldiers do not have to give up their pets but they have a low to no cost place to foster for deployments.

I second Dogs On Deployment. They were created for exactly the OP's circumstances. If that does not work, contact VGSR. I can imagine you are heartbroken even contemplating giving your girl up. Dogs on Deployment should surely be able to assist you in finding someone to foster your girl while you are gone.
