Default GSD rescue help needed for Canadian mill confiscation

On Sept 17th, the Humane Society International, (Humane Society International : Humane Society International) confiscated 550+ dogs (30+ breeds) from a mill near Montreal. Since then, over 100 puppies have been born. This is the largest mill bust in Canadian history. This case is currently in court and a decision is expected in a few weeks. I have been helping the HSI locate rescue groups for some of the breeds for when the dogs are released. There are many GSD in this mill. I don't know exactly how many but hope to have that information soon. If you can direct me to any GSD rescuegroups who are national or have resources in the Northeast, I would be happy to discuss in more detail. There is a video on the HSI web site. I've already contacted a New England based GSD rescue but they are not able to help.
Thank you so much for any contacts you can provide.
Best,
Mary

How far are you willing to allow the dogs to be transported? Do you have a link for people to contact you or the HSI? I would be happy to contact Dogs Deserve Better on FB to see if they can help as well as the rescue I volunteer with. I am in Virginia as is DDB.

I know the Toronto Humane Society always brings in dogs from Quebec and other shelters near Ontario because dogs are adopted out within the week at the shelter. You might want to contact them. They are quite close.

If they are interested in taking some GSD's let me know I would be interested in donating $ to help transport some of the GSD's or even driving up to bring a few there. North Bay is about 1 hour from where I am

The rescue groups are responsible for picking up the dogs and/or arranging for transport once they are released. It might be possible to coordinate transport between more than one rescue group.
Thank you,
Mary

I will contact them to see if they are involved. This mill bust is big news in Canada so I wouldn't be surprised if they know already but I'll check anyway.
Thanks,
Mary

There is brightstar gsd rescue, brightstargsd.org, in rochester ny if you want to transport across the border, it isn't that far. I am not affiliated with them but maybe they can help.
