Default Chester County, PA, 3-4 Yr. Old Female Seeks Special Home

"D" had her first epileptic seizure only days after being adopted out of a shelter. Her seizures are presently well-controlled on medication prescribed and monitored by a specialist and her regular vets. Vaccinations are up to date. "D" is chipped and permanently licensed for Chester County.

Other than epilepsy, "D" is a very pretty, happy, healthy and very smart 65 pound companion. She walks well on a leash, likes to be outside on the deck or in the yard in good weather but must not live outside in a dog house or similar accommodations.

"D" rides well in a car, gets along well with other dogs regardless of the circumstances, happily goes to doggie day care and to the vet's office. She ignores cats and has been around horses. "D" likes to go into the stream to cool off on a hot day but has not had training to swim.

"D" has basic obedience training, responds readily to a variety of voice commands and hand signals and is not destructive in the house or elsewhere. "D" can be confined behind a gate for periods of time but must never be put in a dog crate.

"D" seeks a home with very close to round the clock supervision or the means to provide such supervision: in the event of a seizure, she may need emergency vet care within a very short time. She requires medication every 8 hours and it is very easy to administer her medications.

"D" seeks a very special home with an adoptor who has expertise and can document experience with canine epilepsy. Any potential adoptor must permit the mandatory home visit and must also provide a list of at least three current references one of which must be a veterinarian. In the event of any change in the circumstances of the adoptive home, "D" must be returned to the present owner.

If medication costs are a concern to "D"s adoptor, a subsidy for medication may be available. Medication costs average between $30.00 and $40.00 per month.

This is a private placement announcement for "D" and she will not be placed in foster care with a rescue group.

Responses of interest and serious inquiries for this very special dog by private message only, please.

Thanks.
