Spay date - 10-4-11!

Petfinder Adoptable Dog | German Shepherd Dog | Prosser, WA | Mariah

Breed: German Shepherd Dog (purebred) ***MORE PICS SOON***
Age: 7mos., puppy
Energy: shy girl who was undersocialized, quiet yet playful
Barking: alert barking when someone comes to door
Size: should be 65lb. fully grown. Overweight at the moment and will be dieting here
Kids: over 12yrs. of age please, no history on her with small kids
Cats: afraid of kitties but may snap back eventually if bullied by a cat - would prefer a kitty who isn't hissing and slapping at her
Dogs: shy at first but will acclimatize - neutered male if present, no exceptions
Health: excellent, spayed 10-4-11 so available to adopt now!
Mariah just came into rescue after being shoved out the craigslist revolving door once again. We can't stand to see this happening so we did take her in!
She is 7mos. old, purchased from a local breeder by a person not prepared to take care of her, apparently. After 3 mos. of owning her, out the door again - but this time, into rescue where we'll screen carefully so she can find her forever home!
Mariah was undersocialized and thus is going to need intensive work including positive reinforcement, and working on not being so shy and timid of meeting new people. We will help you work on this and can recommend good trainers but much of it will be up to you.
She is *not* aggressive in any way at all, and we're impressed with the fact that although timid and fearful at first, she doesn't become aggressive and will warm up.
Mariah may not ever be a 'farmer's market' kind of dog, an outgoing social butterfly and if you're fine with accepting her where you can get her, then she's your girl!
$250 adoption fee to offset Mariah's spay and other vet expenses including a rabies shot (which, in 7 mos. of life, nobody ever cared to get for her!!!)

No, we were told she came from Benton City.
She's very sweet, and despite "shy" (undersocialized) she's not aggressive so is going to be a great adoption candidate!
