I found this on craigslist. Anyone interested in a nice looking GSD in the MI area. If my boy were older I would consider him!
Male GERMAN SHEPHERD Re-Posting this ad. Thank you to those who have replied, but we are still looking for the right family to place Jaz into. We are rehoming our 1 and a half year old male German Shepherd, Jasper "Jaz". Jaz is an un-altered purebred. He is very loving and friendly, gets along great with children of all ages (has been around small kids under a year old and up since he was 8 weeks old). Gets along with other dogs and has lived with cats. He gets along with the cats as well, but does think it's a 'game' to chase them. Being that this is a high energy breed, he will require lots of exercise which we are unfortunately no longer able to give him due to work schedules. I feel horrible leaving him in a crate for a big part of the day and feel that he deserves better. We have done puppy as well as intermediate training classes with him, as he loves to 'work'. He knows all the basic commands, but this breed requires continuous training as part of their exercise and mental stimulation routine. It has been suggested to us several times to get him involved in tracking or search and rescue work - which, again, due to time restrictions we are unable to commit to. He does try to pull on leash out of excitement. We are working with him on this, but want to be sure that whoever adopts him can handle the strength of this breed and continues to work with him on it. I am not looking to rehome him to just anyone. I have a list of questions as a screening process. After an initial meeting with a possible adopter, we would like to deliver Jaz to you ourselves. I would also like the adopter to commit to one home visit sometime in the future. I know this is alot to ask, but I want to insure that he goes to a good home and doesn't wind up in a shelter or rescue group somewhere along the road. Rehoming fee does apply If you're interested, please copy/paste the questions below and reply in an e-mail. 1. Do you have dog ownership experience? If so, what breeds and how long? 2. Do you have a fenced in yard? If not, how will you provide the proper exercise time for the dog? 3. How much time do you have to spend training, exercising and bonding with the dog? 4. Why are you interested in this breed? 5. Please list any activities, if any, you plan on doing with your new dog? 6. Are there other animals in the home? 7. Do you have children in the home? 8. Jaz does require a grain free diet due to skin sensitivity. We currently have him on Blue Buffalo - Wilderness formula. Will you be able to provide this or a similar grain-free food? 9. Please provide veterinary references with phone number(s) 10. What is your housing arrangement (house, condo, apt - if apt, please check that your complex allows this breed) After answering questions, please leave your phone number where you can be reached. Thank you for your interest. Again, I know this is lengthy, but he deserves a good home.
