Different reasons. I was too suprosed at all the GSDs. I volunteer there and they had the same thing happen before. We were thinking there was and still is a breeder in the area. But also, you have to take the problems with economy. Some people probably lost their jobs and had to move to a place where GSDs aren't allowed. Or the owners just go lazy and don't want to care for the dog anymore.

Many reasons are for the rise in GSDs.

You will also see a "spike" in dumped dogs - of all types - before a major holiday. This is a nationwide phenomenon, not specific to any one area. There will be another surge around Christmas......

Mhm. I have met a few noce people who had to turn in their dogs and keep tabs on the dogs while they are dealing with their situation.

But then there are people who just dump their dogs around the holidays. That I wqill never understand.

If you look at individuals within the group you can pick out similarities - Shadow and Freddy, Moose and Traviesa for example. Makes me think it might be a breeder dump, at least in part. This is a LOT of GSD's to show up at one time.

Freddy came first. He is so sweet!! I don't know why anyone would dump such a cutie. But yes it is alot of GSDs. I was shocked at how many, usually is around 2 or 3. THere are 2 others, but they are mostly mixes.
