Diesel7602 Was in the same boat. My puppy had to pee every 10- 15 mins. The saying goes, that they can only hold their bladder 1 hour per month they are. So since your pup is 8 weeks he can only hold their bladder for 2 hours. So if ever in a kennel they should not be left in there any longer then those hours; taken to got to the bathroom. On trick to remember, take him to pee right when you take him out. Take him out right after eating, right after play, right after a nap etc.. I would set a timer for ever 15 min to remind me because if I forgot, he had accidents.

Lwilley When they pee, is it a normal pee or dribble? If it is just dribbling, then it is a UTI and they need to go to the vet.

Tygerlynx Its pretty normal! Puppies dont have the ability yet to concentrate their urine quite like adults! This combined with their tiny bladder leads to peeing often. General rule of thumb is the number of hours they can hold it equals their age in months plus 1. So an 8 week old puppy should be able to hold it about 3 hours when confined to a crate or other small area. When they're playing with you, have freedom to roam and are going back for more drinks, 2-3 times an hour is not surprising at all Also, are you sure he is actually going every time you take him out? My pup quickly learned that if he starts sniffing around by the back door he gets to go outside and play! If you're still worried, I would talk to your vet and see if he wants to check for a UTI or any other issue.

Liesje At that age, mine have all peed very often while awake (every 10-20 minutes) and immediately after waking from sleep. If you're worried, you can check for a UTI but my pups have never had one.

Shade It's not unusual for them to go 2-3 times an hour, they usually need to go after eating, drinking, sleeping, or playing. It never hurts to have them checked for a UTI if you're worried though, it's a simple test

bob_barker Think about how itty bitty that bladder is. Not much room in there.
Totally normal that a puppy that young pees a lot.
As they get older it tends to slow down a bit.

Msmaria I'm not sure, but i don't think it's normal. You should check with ur vet for bladder infection. I hope someone more experienced will come along and give you some advice.
