Update: Took her to the vet today... very good news - it's more than likely just a pulled muscle/muscle strain. The vet didn't even think it was pano, since she has no tenderness when "squeezing" on her leg (although she said, it's still a possibility).
Got some anti-inflammatory meds, should help with the pain. Now the tricky part will be, forcing her to rest! I feel so bad, that we can't have our play time... she's already going crazy, getting restless, wanting to play. And we have to try to keep her off the stairs, but... in a split level house, this is difficult. My husband can carry her up and down the stairs, but I can't... this is tricky!

Will put her in the crate if we have to, but so far today she seems happy resting (she did have an exhausting weekend)... plus I caved and let her sleep on our bed for the first time... couldn't help it. now I've learned, once she's on the bed, she doesn't want to move...

|d4lilbitz||It could very well be pano (growing pains). My puppy is almost 7 months and started experiencing the same thing. I've had him on adult food with a lower protein since 16 weeks and he did fantastic. I recently switched him to a high performance dog food and he started limping. The protein level in his old food was 26 %; when I switched his food it increased to 30%. I just switched him back. Still going to the vet tomorrow just to rule anything else out. Check your puppy's food for the protein level...hopefully that is it. It temporary, but painful for them. My guy also had a decreased appetite. I have him in the crate for some rest so he doesn't injure himself hobbling around. Good luck!|

Puppy is limping... :(
We're taking our pup, Abbey, to the vet tomorrow of course, but I was wondering if anyone has any input on this, or suggestions as to what we can do to make her comfortable...
Abbey has been limping since Saturday (wasn't very noticeable on Saturday, but she seemed to be favoring one side, when walking). She's still playing, eating, drinking water, seems happy...
Then last night, she was limping more, but now she's also crying when she tries to go up and down stairs (which now, we're carrying her up and down); and when she's laying down and gets up, she cries out in pain.
We've figured out it's her front, right leg/shoulder that's bothering her. We've thoroughly examined her paw, which is fine, and have checked her leg and shoulder, for swelling, tender spots, etc. She doesn't react at all when we touch her anywhere, and there's no swelling. Again, she only cries on the stairs, and getting up, and stretching.
I'm thinking it could be a pulled muscle? I'm just trying to stay calm until we take her in tomorrow; and I'm really hoping that's all it is. We've made her rest all day today; which she doesn't seem to mind, because the pain is getting to her. We've also been putting an ice pack on her leg and shoulder, which she seems to enjoy.
She was playing, A LOT, with her "cousin" all weekend (my sister's GSD)... and she plays rough - gets what I call "the zoomies" and runs with lightning speed, all over the place, and sometimes she runs into things, or slides across the kitchen floor, into the cabinets... I just don't know... pulled muscle? Injury?
