Steve Strom I'll second Wes and his wife. I think you'll really like them.

mspiker03 I would try Weston at caninepurpose.com in Loomis

I drive down from Tahoe to train with him for SchH/IPO, but he also does general OB/behavior stuff too.

Hello GSDF Members

I am on the hunt for a dog trainer in the Carmichael Area. I've tried doing 'self-made trainer' thing by myself, but with Wolf being my very first German Shepherd, large sized dog, and with a lot of change going on...I humbly admit that I bit off more than what I could chew when it came to assuming responsibility over a breed I am not that fully knowledgeable about.

After moving in with my new roommate, and watching my dog play with her five month old puppy, I did not realize how much in denial I've been in when it came to properly raising and socializing my dog. I'm worried that if I continue to go along this path, that I could be the cause of an unfortunate and avoidable situation.

I realize that all of his current behaviors are 100% my fault, but I'm tired of walking into an establishment, be in a group that I don't feel welcomed in, and fight just to be seen or heard. It's humiliating. Also, I have some major trust issues when it comes to following someone, or taking their advice, and I do not know them personally. I understand that I do not know everything, or even anything, when it comes to training dogs, but I need that from the person I follow too...

If anyone can recommend, review, or point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. I really want to enjoy the time I spend with Wolf, instead of worrying or panicking every time we go somewhere, meet someone, or try something new.

Thank You for Your Time!
