|Stephanotis||We had out appt today and the Dr said it looked like an infected hair follicle but that it seemed like a large lump for something like that. She also said I had no reason to be worried at this point. She took a sample and sent it off to be analyzed, we should know more by Tuesday. Fingers crossed it's something minor. Thanks everyone!!!! 🐺🐾❤️|

|Stephanotis||Thanks everyone I'm so happy to have found this forum. My girl is 4 1/2 and she's my whole life! I'm just so concerned, thinking the worst but hoping for the best. 10am can't come soon enough. Although I was told I'd be waiting a long time since they worked me in, I'm happy I got an appointment. I'll post our outcome.|

|Harry and Lola||Best to get it checked out, my Lola has a hard lump just above her shoulder about the size of a malteezer, maybe just a bit bigger, I got her checked out just in case but is one of those cysts that many dogs get. Is best to just leave it alone and if it pops itself to clean with betadine.|

The lump which I found on my pup..which..as you suggested...was something that happened overnight...no doubt I was alarmed.
However, and I wish I could remember the name of this particular anomaly..ended up being no problem whatsoever. The vet's diagnosis reigned supreme and I found ease in their knowledge of what this large lump was on my pup which appeared overnight.
I do not know what the cause of this lump is on your dog but I do know....the vet will clue you in as to what it is.
Nigel's post is spot on....we can only guess.....
And..yes...your experience as it unfolds...being added to this thread you started..very well might help the next person out, who experiences something similar with their furry friend.

|selzer||Dogs get boils and sebaceous cysts. Some of them will fill with goo. And popping them, ew! But, best to check it out with the vet first, especially since it wasn't there yesterday. It could be many things.|
