Dainerra in some cases, genetic testing is the only way to know for sure since bi-colors and even blacks can develop quite a bit of bleed thru as they grow up.

Dainerra bi-color is a pattern. blanket back is a pattern.
A dog can't be both. Genetically, a dog is either/or. Just like a dog is either black or it's white.

There are a lot of sites that list dog colors in really weird ways. That doesn't make it correct.

acos88 Haha yeah that's true. I will love him regardless of coloring I was just curious since he was my first one

I had a couple people tell me mine was bi color, everyone else went with Black and Tan . The good thing about this is that people out in the real world don't ask, he is a GSD and I leave it at that

Well I'm not going to argue the point, but this dog and dogs that look similar are listed as bi color on a lot of sites, which is causing confusion to people that don't know(that would be me for sure).

Dainerra that dog is a black/tan saddleback. it's not a bi-color

llombardo This site has this dog as a bi color saddleback, which interests me because this dog looks like mine but I was told he wasn't bi color

Endurian Your pup looks black and tan this is my bicolor female. they normally dont have markings on their face or chest

This is her sister who is a Solid black with bleedthru

But i also have black and tans. I have a black and tan that looked like she was going to be bicolor as a pup had the black on her toes and everything but grew up to be a blanketed black and tan
