|Ruby'sMom||Thanks for the info. I figured that everyone might be a little stressed based on discussions on this forum, but you guys have definitely have made an impression on me. I will e-mail them and ask. There is a club in Spokane I could check out. Thanks again!|

Most clubs are pretty open to people coming out and watching. We usually have people email or FB message us about coming out.
We try and have someone available to check on visitors, answer questions, etc.
We only had one time that someone showed up, did not come over/stayed in the parking lot and watched the event from a distance. And then complained that we ignored him :-). Sad little man......

Every competitor is stressed to some levels. I don't talk to anyone on trial day and not very pleasant to be around I know it about myself, I own it, and I apologize to my teammates in advance... Other people probably handle it better.
So, yea, trial day is where people are mostly focused on themselves. It's the day where you get to show all the hard work; however, dogs are funny creatures that can screw with you on any given day so it's inherently stressful until after it's done.
We don't have a problem having people come over and watch but you did the right thing by reaching out to the club in advance.
Come join a club for training, just come and watch, people will be much much nicer and overall IMO joining a club on a training day will be much more rewarding than on trial day

|Chris Wild||Yes, spectators are generally welcome though it is nice to email ahead of time to let them know you're coming and also to verify the location and start times. Tracking is usually held at a different location than obedience and protection, so you'll probably need to find out from them where to be when depending on what phases you'd like to see.|

I did the same thing here, just emailed and asked if I could watch.
Just don't expect anyone to be warm and fuzzy. I thoroughly enjoyed watching but I felt like the odd man out lol!

|Shade||I emailed the club hosting the trial in advance and asked, I figured it would be the proper etiquette and couldn't hurt. They were very nice and told me yes, anyone was welcome I ended up not being able to go but it's nice to know for the future|

Can anyone observe IPO trial?
I found a Schutzhund trial in Middleton, Idaho Sept 13-14 I would like to observe. Should I e-mail and ask, or is it like an AKC agility dog show and everyone is welcomed? The Regional Championship is in Spokane which is closer but not until October (hunting season)..... Plus I can't wait that long. I'm really excited to see one. 😃
