FirefighterGSD Fun! I avoid DC because of the traffic as well. Thank's for posting!

d4lilbitz Thank you Daisyrunner! At 6.5 months old, I'm very happy with how he's turning out in both appearance and trainability. Such a stable temperament on this boy!

Thank you Cindy! He loves exploring. Although I think his feelings were hurt because people weren't petting him lol. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but he kept trying to go in the water. He had so much fun. Jillian has seen them on Facebook, she posted a picture of Bella..she is beautiful! : )

By the way, the FDR Memorial permits dogs--it's an outdoor exhibit near the Jefferson Memorial. Also, Haines Point is a great place for a long walk by the river.
The FDR memorial is by far my favorite one : ) On a good day and with my older dogs, we would walk the entire mall, around the Lincoln Memorial, the FDR Memorial, and White House...Isen is still WAY to young for that..so its a mini hike : )

I'll need to try Haines Point. Another is Rock Creek Park...a friend of mine always takes his dogs swimming there and they love it!

Thank you very much! In the last few years, it has become very dog friendly : ) I love being able to take them to places with me and they enjoy it too! In order to find easy parking on the mall (weekends is free), I'd get there early. I always get there between 6:30 - 7:30 and have no trouble parking. Plus in the summer months its cooler for the dogs. Around 10 the big crowds start to come in...it really is such a neat city to walk around : )
