If you will not crate her now, she will destroy your home. If the (crating) idea seems illogical, you will get more frustrated, from not taking advice, the relationship will dwindle where neither of you, (dog and human) are unhappy because of illogical boundaries. Just wait until the dog get's on the kitchen counter, grabs a steak knife or something sharp to chew on.. I could not even take my eye off the dog until 6 months out of the crate. I have two crates, one @ home and one in the truck / RV. Used extra large Vari Kennels with food trays and bottom grates @ $90.00 each usd. A must have.

|katieliz||Good decision. Give it time and don't "crack" lolol...it'll be her den and favorite place. The biggest problem is if you're against putting it in the bedroom when you sleep, cause she'll be lonely. Ohmygosh, she is SO SO young. Again, thanks for putting your puppy's well being at the top of your list and even tho you're not fond of crating, doing it for her. Take care.|

He's in Lebanon I think and I don't think it's the money. That was a smiley face I think.
In other countries people are opposed to crating more than here.

looks as tho the OP says that $$ are the reason he prefers not to get a crate??? not that he's opposed to using them.
OP, please protect your puppy. is there no way you can afford a crate. maybe used on craigslist or something? this is SO important. things can happen to puppies that age that you just don't want to think about. in an INSTANT.

I was against crating for a very long time. I was lucky and had easy dogs. I just didn't realize it until I got Kaleb. He was a terror, full of energy and in to everything. He was crated at night. I didn't trust him not to tear things up. During the day we watched him. He loves his crate now. He is just over a year old. I leave the door open and he will just go in there to sleep sometimes.
You have to be consistent with the training and don't fall into the rationalization that "it's just what puppies do". Yes, puppies do things, but they still need to be trained or they will not stop doing those things.
