llombardo Some dogs don't get along in the door, some dogs take a little bit to get used things, and some never get along. I have 2 females that are 6 yrs apart and it works well. My female GSD was not fond of the male and she growled at him at first, they get along great now. It just depends on the dogs and their temperaments. Mine have great temperaments and I wouldn't being in another female for quite a few years. My older female has taught the younger one everything she knows about keeping the boys in line

katieliz whoa, no, no, no to the whole thing of your parents not being able to watch them all day. for a very, very long time...perhaps forever, SOMEONE will have to watch and supervise these two. leaving two bitches alone who "get aggressive and growl" is an accident waiting to happen. please revise your expectations of these two girls. they don't call it "bitch fighting" for no reason. you may never be able to be comfortable with them together, surely at the least you'll have to go very slow and be very certain that they won't harm each other, before they can be left unsupervised, if ever. sorry to have to tell you that, but you don't want to see the results of two bitches in a knock-down/drag-out.

How to get two females to get along

Hi Guys a little help, any advice from anyone who has experienced this:

I have a GSDxHusky mix 6months old and labradorxspitz mix 5 yrs old. they are both female. I recently brought home(parents home) my GSD where we have the spitz. I tried introducing both of them with each other across a fence, they are both okay and sniffing each other but when I remove the fence both get aggressive and growls at each other. What can I do so that they get friendly?

I keep there sleeping places apart, I also have them eat separately without seeing the other one. I only want them to spend time together playing/bonding during the day because my parents cant watch them all day.
