worms redux

So, I have a question. I dewormed my dog from tapeworms and he is still pooping them out a week later. I was told 2-3 days. He pooped out 7 of them all dead. What should and can I do? Is that normal. He is healthier and more energetic than he was a week ago. But I don't get why he still is pooping them out. Any help? His vet is closed for today. They did a stool sample 5 days ago and said they were gone.
