|wyoung2153||Mine is an insect.... anything that flies and bites or stings. So the most common ones I come across here are wasps, hornets, bees, and horseflies/yellow flies. The easiest way to remove me from the vacinity is to even just say that one is near me... bam, gone in a heartbeat, ninja style.. In Germany, I made the landlords install and keep up on screens on all the windows as part of our lease because they didn't have any and wasps and bees enter freely. NOPE.. a whole lot of NOPE.|

|Daisy&Lucky's Mom||RATS,uhhh. Dont like spiders and snakes but rats just make me shiver typing their name. I worked at a big bakery as security when I was in college and the rats that came for the flour that spilled from the silow were freakin huge. One named Ralph ate to much of yeasty mixture and died.OK probably urban legend told to me by workers who knew I had to open the door on nights when the bakery was shut down. I think I met Ralph in the silow room once. He had to go 25 lbs and let me tell you I never unlocked that door again. My next job was a insurance inspector and I got to meet river rats in some basements in East Liverpool that still make me want to run.Yep Rats their the worst.|

Hippos are another that are far enough away from me, but yeah, I think they may be the mammal that kills more humans than any other mammal.
Big and nasty.

I used to be terrified of spiders, especially the big hairy kind (wolf spiders). As I got older, though, I realized that they are a vital species in the environment, we'd be overrun by insects if we didn't have them, harmful both to us, animals, and all vegetation. SO... over the years I have tried to desensitize myself to spiders, and I am at the point where I can co-exist with them, even catching big ones in the house and taking them outside (FAR from the house, lol) and releasing them.
However, I live in Michigan. I was in Tennessee for a few months YEARS ago, and the spiders get progressively bigger the farther south you go, so I'm not sure how I'd do anywhere that there's not a killing winter.
I also think that the Southwest would be scary, with scorpions and tarantulas...
Mammals don't scare me. There are of course those that I have great respect for, and would never act foolishly around, but I can't say it's fear. Wild animals act as they were programmed to, and if I put myself in a position where I could be considered dinner (or a threat), then that's my fault.
