Bellagrl I was overwhelmed with the intensity of the nipping in my 9 week old pup. It was constant and left marks on my arms. The nipping was so bad that I wanted to give this puppy away that I researched 4 months before I found the breeder. I took him to puppy daycare a couple of times a week and hired a personnel trainer to talk me off the ledge. My brother in law said give him a year and you will fall in love and that's exactally what happened,
My falco is the love of my life. He's very affectionate, loving and no nipping. He is 14 months now. So dont give up hope. You too will fall in love with your pup!

Mwelsh03 What worked for me was bitter apple spray. A squirt in the mouth immediately after a nip let him know it wasn't okay. They eventually grow out of it thought at around 5-6 months old.

Audie1 There are soooo many opinions regarding this matter. Take a look around the site for various techniques that you could use.

One thing is for certain; GSDs are "landsharks" and they all nip as pups. But, rest assured, they all outgrow it and sometimes you just have to weather the storm... heh.

Be sure to get your pup enrolled in some sort of puppy kindergarten. It's a great opportunity to both teach and learn from your new companion

Good luck!

Advise for puppy nipping.

Hello, our 9 week old shepherd puppy is nipping everyone and everything. Does anyone have any advise on how we can stop it or what we should use for her to chew on, instead of my son! Thanks for any advise anyone can give.
