Security Question
While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, john and his friend sally both spotted a dalmatian inside a truck with sirens, headed to put out a fire. State what the 2x4 is made of.

Kayos and Havoc Mayhem just got her UKC RO1. I have been competing in AKC and UKC obedience for many years. There are some minor differences but as long as your dog knows the skills fear of NQing cause you failed to repeat a sign correctly should not even be considered. I also think in AKC you certainly can NQ for not completing a sign correctly after 2 attempts.

The judgiing standard in UKC, in my opinion, is a little harder than AKC. But again, if your dog is trained it should not be a concern. I like UKC. I find it friendler and more relaxed.

We are entered in a UKC agility trial this weekend. Looking for an AG2.

Samba Okay, so you fail if you do not complete a sign rather than just forfeit the 10 points.

And you can ask if elbows are down and such. The judge might tell you you have a fault when performing a station so would know to try again?

Trying to study the signs as the different look hurts my old brain! Going to try in this at the end of the month.

LeoRose I haven't competed yet, but I've been studying. There are some differences. For one thing, in UKC, you can ask the judge if you performed a station correctly. There is a facebook group for UKC obedience and rally, if you are interested.

Nigel Hmmm.. other than a few signs being different and slightly fewer of them, in UKC you get NQ'd if you fail to complete a station correctly after 2 attempts, AKC deducts points. I think everything else is fairly similar.

UKC Rally ?

Does anyone here do this venue? I just entered, but have never trialed. I am reading the rules, but it is hard to get the flavor of it from that.

I have been in the AKC Rally ring. How is UKC different? What are the pitfalls in moving to this ring that should I be aware of?

Hope somebody out there is familiar with both!

I downloaded the signs as I see the look is a little different. I will have to acclimate old brain to those.
