SuperG There are so many variables at play when trying to determine an allergy....my only thought is...to the best of your ability, only change 1 variable at a time.

How old is the dog ?

Mary Beth If you think he is allergic to chicken, then it would be better to stay away from the foods that have chicken in any form. I feed Solid Gold - no chicken - no grain.

Allergies and food

I am trying to figure out what my boy is allergic to. He has constant ear infections and itchy skin. I am now trying to switch to a fish based food away from chicken. The current food is BB Wilderness Chicken. I was thinking of switching to Natures Domain Salmon and sweet potato. But the ND has chicken fat in it, albeit fairly low on the ingredients list. Will this be a good change or should I look for something with no chicken whatsoever in it?
