Yep, box work is never done!
That is so awesome, I'd LOVE to see a vid. Wait until you get racing, it's so much fun!

Great progress so far, and definitely addicting!

Yeah, the nice thing is since he's 5 he really picked up on the game quickly and progression has been really nice since we had a lot of good foundations from training in other venues.
We are at the point where I can send him down over 4 jumps, to the box for the ball, and back. We are working on fine tuning the box turns, since he is such a large/long dog. It is certainly addicting though!

At the beginning, it's not a lot of fun, just like starting any sport. You have to get a good foundation down. We always started with restrained recalls for pups, as they get older we introduce lower jumps, spaced closer together. Then we introduce turns on the box, then add a ball and then send them down from the first jump etc.
If your dog is older, you may actually progress faster, because you have to be careful with what you do with pups.
Have fun!! It's so addictive!

Where are the pictures?!
I haven't seen photos of your crew in a very long time!!!

Good job. Will probably see you around at some point.
We have been doing mostly Ontario tournaments this year and not much in our own region.

So we finished our intro class and we got absolutely hooked! Odin loves it, and now that he has the hang of how it works he is absolutely crazy for it. We decided to continue training weekly with the team in hopes of being ready for competition.
It was just the sport we needed to add a little excitement to our usual obedience and rally routines.

It sounds like he's fit, with a good foundation of training already so I definitely don't think it's too late to start. Good luck and have fun!
