Thanks for the info. We have lots of gophers at our dog parks.
What a sad story.

|Nigel||That is sad. Signs are required here for pesticides/herbicides, but I don't believe they use them much around here, too costly and with the exception of noxious weeds, no one cares about a few weeds or varmints. Avista, our power company uses goats to clear brush and weeds along transmission lines. As long as there are plenty of predatory animals in the area, let nature take its course.|

Warning: California parks poisonings
Warning to LA County dog owners: LA City is putting out poison | Got baddog Photos and Videos
There have been a number of sanctioned local news stations that are covering the poisonings of P-22, that beautiful mountain lion near Griffith Park in Los Angeles county. If one county is utilizing this method, then it is safe to assume, and you should assume that other counties around the country could be utilizing the same methods.
Several dogs have also fallen victim to this poison at dog parks in and around the LA County area. The county does not dispute the deaths according to this article.
I know the gentlemen who lost the dogs in this article. Such a sad, sad thing.
Be careful taking your animals any where and always keep an eye on what they ingest.
