onyx'girl I know of a dog thats 8 months old with forms in his ears. Who knows if it'll work. Mix of SL/Czech.

DJEtzel I have never personally seen, heard, or had success taping after 5/6 mos. My dog was taped at 5 mos and one didn't take all the way.

The prime period would be 3-4 mos.

lalachka There was a thread here about fixing an adult's ears. Supposedly it worked for the guy and a few people from the forum that tried it.

Also, I thought 6 months was about the time to start taping

DJEtzel My thoughts would be that taping/gluing at this age would probably not accomplish much. A little too old.

I know I have asked this question before and got helpful answers, but I'm going to ask again. Zeus will be 6mo old on the 28th, his ears are not up, they do come up at times, but tend to go back down. For the most part they stay flopped out to either side. In my previous post several of you said I should tape his ears up. The trainer I took him to for basic obedience training, who is also a vet tech, asked me if I planned on show in him, I said no, he is just going to be a family dog, she then asked if it mattered to me if his ears went up, I again said no, I love him dearly and that will not change because of his ears. I brought up the ear health issue of a floppy ear and she said that since his ears don't flop straight over and they do come up at times they would get sufficient air to keep them dry and prevent infections. She said taping could possibly need to be done repeatedly and would cause hair to be pulled out and his ears to get raw, so she suggested that if I was ok with his ears to not tape them and save him some pain and discomfort. She said since they do come up when he's "alert" or excited they may still come up on thier own. I've included some pictures showing how his ears usually lay. Any thoughts?
